Obituary of James Munger

Mr. James G. "Jim" Munger, 56, of 181 Folts Rd., Herkimer and a Little Falls native entered into eternal rest at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica after a courageous battle with a long illness. Jim was born on June 22, 1946 in Little Falls the son of Alfred S. Munger and the late Lois Smith Munger. He received his education in Little Falls Schools and futhered his education attending Montgomery County Community College and Mohawk Valley Community College. He served our country with the U.S. Army. He was last employed as a supervisor and plant manager with Mohawk Data Science and recently was employed by the Evening Telegram. Some of the organizations Jim was active with were the Polish Club in Little Falls, Dolgeville Fish and Game Club and the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, Little Falls Elks Lodge, Little Falls American Legion and the Sprite Club. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting. He took special pride in his family and friends. He was a straightforward, open man and his family and friends will always recognize and remember his admirable qualities. He will be sadly missed by his loved ones. Survivors include his father, Alfred S. Munger of Little Falls, two daughters, Dr. Jennifer Munger of Rochester and Kari Munger of Albany,his beloved companion, Joan Parsons and her family who shared a special place in Jim's heart, two loving sisters, Patricia Foshee and husband Daniel of Garland, TX and Linda Maida and husband Greg of Herkimer, two close brothers, Alfred "Skip" Munger and wife Jeanne of Little Falls, and Richard "Dick" Munger and wife Sandy of Little Falls, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving are several close friends. It would be remiss not to mention D'Lila, who was Jim's canine companion. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Monday, December 9, 2002 from 3-6 p.m. Jim's funeral service will begin at 6 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday evening with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. Jim will be laid to rest this spring in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider contributions in Jim's memory to MOVAC, the House of Good Shepard or to a charity of your choice, envelopes are available at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. Patel and the ICU Staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care and compassion.
