Obituary of Donald Marosek

Mr. Donald S. Marosek, age 72, of 1531 State Rt. 169, Little Falls, beloved husband of Fay Marosek, passed away on Friday evening, December 13, 2002, peacefully in his home. He was surrounded by his beloved family at the time of his passing. Mr. Marosek was born on October 16, 1930 in Little Falls, a son of the late Stanley and Mary Homovec Marosek. He received his education at St. Mary's Academy and attended carpenter school. He was a lifelong Little Falls resident. He joined in marriage with the former Fay Madison on July 3, 1954 at St. James Church in Fort Plain with Father Sullivan officiating. Mr. Marosek proudly served his country in the Korean Conflict with the US Air Force. He enlisted on September 15, 1950 and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1953. He was last employed as a carpenter with C.J. Burgess Construction Company in Canajoharie for many years. He was also employed by C.J. Scialdo Construction Company in Herkimer at one time. He was a member of the Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula VFW Post#4612 and of Local Union #747. He was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. Mr. Marosek was a well known area gardener where he grew flowers, fruits and vegetables. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Fay of the home address, two sons, Michael J. and wife Mary Beth Marosek of Little Falls, Lawrence D. and wife Joanna Marosek of Little Falls, a brother, David and wife Barbara Marosek of Little Falls, two sisters, Marion Brown and husband Robert, Sharon Marosek of West Hartford, Conn., six cherished grandchildren, Scott, Sarah, Shawn and Michael Marosek, Jesse and Chelsea Marosek. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws and many dear friends. Calling hours at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls will be held on Monday, December 16, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. The funeral will commence on Tuesday morning, December 17, at 10: 15 am from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ and 11am from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Street, Little Falls where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles R. Celeste, pastor. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where committal services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice Care, Inc., envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. A special thank you is extended to Sister Sharon Ann Boyd, Rudy Lorenzoni, and Father Lanza for all of the comfort they provided the family during this difficult time.
