Local Funeral Director Earns Certification

Daniel J. Enea, Funeral DirectorA national program that standardizes certification for consultants who help families plan funeral services in advance has awarded the Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC) Designation to Daniel J. Enea, Funeral Director. Certified Preplanning Consultants must pass an examination and are required to apply for recertification every four years.

"The CPC designation means that families who are planning funeral service in advance are receiving the highest quality of customer service care," according to Colleen Murphy Klein, who manages the program for the National Funeral Directors Association, serving more than 21, 400 individual members who represent 12,486 funeral homes in the U.S. and other countries.

"Those who have earned the CPC designation are uniquely qualified to help families plan appropriate and sensitive services and to deal with funding and consumer service and protection issues," she added.

The program is a voluntary process that recognizes qualified individuals for their advanced knowledge and skill. NFDA's CPC certification specifically recognizes an individual's dedication to excellence in customer service and affirmation of funeral service's highest ethical standards.

The Certified Preplanning Consultant program was established in 1996 as the national standard of excellence in preplanning in response to consumer demands for greater information about preplanning and prefunding funerals. Dan joins a premier group of preplanning consultants around the world who have earned national CPC certification, which exemplifies the highest professional standards and excellence in service to families and is the only funeral director in the Mohawk Valley to hold this certification. Enea states that, "In preparing for the CPC examination I knew a made a valuable decision for my firm, my families and my career on the fundamentals of funeral preplanning, exceptional service delivery, high ethical standards, empathetic communication skills, regulatory compliance and understanding the value of the funeral. I look forward to applying the new lessons and information I have learned to better serving the families in the Mohawk Valley." Enea is a 2000 graduate of SUNY Canton and received his funeral director license in May of 2001.
