Enea Family Funeral Homes Collaborating With the American Cancer Society
Enea Family Funeral Homes, a member of the National Funeral Directors Association (NFDA), is collaborating with the American Cancer Society to help local families cope with the loss of a loved one. Through this alliance, formed as part of NFDA's national consumer education effort, For a Life Worth Celebrating™, Enea Family Funeral Homes now has important cancer awareness resources to help families find the necessary support during their time of need.
The following materials were developed by the American Cancer Society and NFDA, and are available through Enea Family Funeral Homes:
- Coping with Loss, is a brochure designed for families who have lost a loved one to cancer. This brochure provides valuable information on how to deal with grief, and recommends that individuals consult with their local NFDA member funeral director for additional resources. Enea Family Funeral Homes can provide recommendations for local bereavement and support groups.
- Honoring Your Loved One's Memory , is a brochure that helps to direct families on how to make informed decisions about remembering their loved ones with a memorial gift. Enea Family Funeral Homes can make the necessary notifications and arrangements for families and ensure that their wishes are included in the obituary.
- Memorial envelopes, for families wishing to honor a loved one?s memory by requesting that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
- A magnet that includes a toll-free number for the American Cancer Society that families can call anytime, day or night, for information and support.
As community leaders and caregivers, we know that funeral directors are an important resource for families," said NFDA Chief Executive Officer Christine Pepper, CAE. "The Enea Family and the American Cancer Society collaboration allows NFDA funeral homes to provide valuable information from the nation's leading voluntary health organization. Cancer affects 9. 8 million Americans, but with teamwork we can make a difference in the fight against this terrible disease."
"This is an illness that we see affect many families throughout the mohawk valley and felt the need to partner with our friends at the national funeral directors association to help fight this dreaded disease" said Harry Enea, Jr. "We encourage anyone to simply call, email or stop by for free information on how you can help." Information may also be obtained by contacting the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home of Dolgeville or the Applegate & Day Funeral Homes in Ilion and Mohawk, which are affiliated with the Enea family.
